Very dangerous (risk of collapse)
Memories, memories, memories – the golden age of cinema.
Located in Yingge, the Jinjin was founded in 1985 with a capital of 2 million NTD and formally closed in 2007. It occupies the 3rd to 5th floors of what is now a completely abandoned high-rise building. Apart from its decayed condition, the building is an unremarkable concrete block.
It is wrongly associated with a series of bomb attacks from the 1950s, which actually took place only nearby.
The entrance is not too hard to find, but its condition requires a bit of courage to enter – especially if you’re not immediately flattened by the heavy, rust-eaten entrance door. It seems to be holding up more out of habit than structure. In front of the lower floor are a few small food stalls; the rest of the building is empty.
Once inside, you’re greeted by a pungent stench. It’s very dark. A staircase leads to an empty hall and then – the completely decayed cinema hall, where the ceiling has already collapsed.
You can go up one more floor, but things start getting dangerous – too many intermediate ceilings are falling in. So take care, dear friends of decay.
